Tough Weather for Offshore Trips
Weather has been really tough to make our regular scheduled offshore fishing runs. We have not been deep since the last email newsletter due to weather.

Hogfish Continue Dominance of Nearshore Fishing
Hogfish bite once again dominates the near shore reports because that in my opinion is the best eating near shore fish you can catch, and they are biting very well around 40-80ft of water.

Area Closure for Snook, Redfish, Trout to Continue
Recent FWC commission meeting made final ruling on the closure for snook, redfish and trout and they decided to continue that for our region until end of May 2021.

Good Nighttime Bite
The 39 hour mid-week trip went well this week for us at Hubbard’s Marina. They had a great nighttime bite on snapper, tuna, and some strawberry grouper along with some heads and tails like almaco jacks, porgies and some yellowtail snapper.

Hogfish Bite Still Good Nearshore
The hogfish bite has been good this past week, a little hit and miss but for the most part we had some epic days. For example, on half day trip this past week netted nearly 20 keeper hogfish.

Good Redfish Bite Inshore
Redfish bite has been good throughout the area this past week with the warming trend it seemed to get these guys excited from the back bays to the passes and everywhere in between.

Hogs Remain Star of the Show
Hogfish is the star of the show near shore right now, they are really biting well and will continue through the spring time while the water is a little cooler.

HOT Sheepshead Bite Throughout the Bay
The sheepshead bite is HOT right now throughout the bay and around the passes. They love the structure like the Skyway Bridge fishing piers or really any pier.

Great Offshore Action
We had some great offshore action this past weekend aboard our 39 hour long range overnight fishing trip at Hubbard’s Marina. The new moon was in full effect and luckily it didn’t cause us to battle the current too badly even when we were fishing close to 250 foot of water during the trip.

Pompano Heating Up at Sky Way and Fort de Soto
We are starting to see the pompano show up to our area in some decent numbers. Currently they are not super thick quite yet but in certain areas you can find good concentrations.

Super Hot Hogfish Bite
Hogfish bite is super hot right now, especially around 40-70ft of water we are seeing the hogfish chewing well.
