Plentiful Mackerel Nearshore
The big news nearshore this week is the plentiful mackerel and the hogfish bite getting pretty darn good. The kingfish are around but not in huge cooperative numbers at this time.

Great Offshore Action for Grouper & AJ
Deeper water has brought us the best offshore action this past week for the grouper and amberjack. Gag grouper, scamp grouper and amberjack are all more prolific and easier to catch the deeper you go.

Hungry Snook Around the Area
We have seen lots of hungry snook around the area this past week, especially just before sunrise on the outgoing tide they have been stacked around the structures in the passes. I have caught a snook every morning I dropped a line this past week nearly as quickly as I started fishing.

Really Good Nearshore Action
Nearshore fishing was again really good this week with lots of lane snapper caught a few mangroves, hogfish, and red grouper too.

Fish Showing Up This Fall!
It's been an especially wet and rainy season here in Tampa, but hopefully, September will bring an end to that. So far, the fish have been showing up in great numbers.

Best AJ Fishing in Years
Amberjack are still open until end of October and this past weekend was the best amberjack fishing we have seen in a year or more!

Hogfish Starting to Roll!
This week we have been finding the mackerel on the beaches feeding on the trollers on the way out to fish nearshore.

Great Redfish Action Around Tampa Bay
More great redfish action around Tampa Bay during the day and in the passes at night this past week. We had some really active redfish schools feeding along the mangrove shore lines on live shrimp or live pinfish during the day.

Red Snapper Season Closed
Our red snapper season has now officially closed for now, however, if we did not reach the full quota there’s a slight possibility of a later season perhaps that may open.

Best Action Out DEEP!
Yet again the best action we are seeing is out deep! We have another week of red snapper fishing ahead before they are closed for the year, unless an extension gets announced.
